This is a compact cylindrical rotary numbering unit built from iron. Eight rotating wheels are arranged in line along the body, each engraved around its circumference with the digits 0 through 9, and the figure set on every wheel shows through the face. The mechanism advances the wheels in sequence, carrying the step from one wheel to the next as each completes its cycle, so the figures move forward in order. Machined metal construction gives the unit durability and resistance to wear in a small, self-contained format.
On IC800, the wheels are driven by a square-profile knob mounted at one end of the block, with the base flush against the frame.
