This is a mechanical rotary numbering unit built on a metal frame. Across the front sits a row of rotating wheels, each engraved around its circumference with the digits 0 through 9, and the figure currently set on every wheel shows through the face of the unit. A knob on one side drives the mechanism: each actuation turns the wheels, and when a wheel completes its cycle it carries the advance over to the wheel beside it, so the figures step forward in order. A reset returns the wheels to their starting figure.
The body is machined from metal for weight and rigidity, and the frame carries mounting holes for fixing the unit in place. This model belongs to a family of closely related units that share the same construction and mechanism, differing only in small details such as the number of wheels, the shape of the side actuator, and the frame or base. On IC100, the side actuator is a straight cylindrical knob, the frame is a beveled rectangular block with a flat mounting base, and the finish is a brushed steel.
